CLUB Classes

HIP HOP

Our hip hop classes set to upbeat music and the latest in one of the most popular forms of dance.  Hip hop is a popular style of dance seen in commercials, music videos, concerts and more.  Teaching rhythm and coordination, students will learn weekly dances set to age appropriate music and movement.  This high energy class is popular with both boys and girls.  Our hip hop classes levels are:

Hip Hop 1:   ages 7-10
Hip Hop 2:  ages 11-14
Hip Hop 3:  15 and older


Hip Hop Dress Code
Any loose fit clothing (sweatpants, etc…). No jeans allowed . Tennis Shoes (NO Street Shoes). It is important that the dancers shoes be saved for class use only to protect our floors and keep them clear of debris for the safety of our dancers.

 

All other class levels are based on both age and years of dance experience.  


It is important to us that every child is placed in the proper level of classes to ensure a positive learning environment and overall experience for your child. If you are uncertain of what class level your child belongs in, please stop in or contact the office (330) 331-7520. 

 
BALLET 

Ballet is the fundamental of all styles of dance. It develops grace, poise, and discipline.  Students will focus on proper body placement, balance, flexibility, coordination, and over technique through barre and center work.   

Ballet Dress Code 
Solid Black Leotard, Skirts by permission of the teacher only, Pink Tights, Pink Ballet Shoes. Hair must be NEATLY pulled of the neck and face (preferably in a bun, using a hairnet and bobby pins), No jewelry 

Boys:  Solid White T-Shirt (no print), Black Shorts or Black Jazz Pants, Thin Black Socks, Black Ballet Shoes  

 ADULT BALLET 


The adult ballet class promotes body alignment, good posture, flexibility, and strengthening for adults new to ballet or those who are ready to put those ballet shoes again! The class will consist of traditional barre work, center work, and stretching and strengthening exercises. 

Dress Code: Ballet shoes (or socks) and anything you feel comfortable moving in! 



JAZZ 

Jazz dance is a technical style of dance the focuses on rhythms and isolating various parts of the body in movement. Our jazz classes focus on different forms of the style including: lyrical, contemporary, theater, and funk.   Students will work on jumps, leaps, turns, flexibility, artistry, and coordination.  Students are encouraged to take ballet training in conjunction with their jazz classes.  

Jazz Dress Code 
Any Leotard, Boy Shorts, Any color tights, Tan Jazz Shoes. Hair NEATLY pulled away from the face and neck, No Jewelry. 


Boys: Any T-shirt, Shorts or Sweatpants, Black Jazz Shoes or Foot Paws 

 

 TAP 

Tap dance is a form of dance that focuses on creating rhythms patterns by striking different parts of the foot on the floor. Our tap classes focus on rhythmic patterns and Broadway styles.  Students will develop rhythm, musicality, coordination, agility, and basic through advanced tap skills.  

Tap Dress Code 
Pants must not cover the bottom of the foot (NO Jeans), T-shirts and tank tops, Black Tap Shoes. Hair NEATLY pulled away from the face and neck, No jewelry.  



ACRO

Our tumbling and acro program focuses on strength, power, agility, coordination, balance, and control.  Students will develop skills form basic rolls through aerials, back handsprings, back tucks, and passes.  

Acro Dress Code
Leotards, shorts, hair pulled neatly away from face and neck.  NO socks, bare feet only.  NO jewelry. 

 



 

Creative Movement 1 (2 year olds)

This 30 minute pre-ballet and creative movement class introduces our youngest students to the joys of dance, classroom etiquette, develops young imaginations and basic locomotive skills in a structured yet fun environment.

Dancers will need to wear any solid colored leotards, pink tights, ballet skirts optional, and pink leather ballet slippers. Hair should be secured and neatly pulled away from the face.
 

Creative Movement 2 (3 year olds)

This 30 minute class is a continuation of our Creative Movement Class developing our pre-dance skills, classroom etiquette, coordination and developing our imaginations in a structured yet fun environment.

Dancers will need to wear any solid colored leotards, pink tights, ballet skirts optional, and pink leather ballet  slippers. Hair should be secured and neatly pulled away from the face.

Mini Movement 1 (4-5 year olds) 

This 45 minute class continues to develop our basic ballet technique, working more on strength and flexibility.  We will introduce beginning tap vocabulary, develop coordination, musicality, and imaginations in a structured yet fun environment.

Dancers will need to wear any solid colored leotards, pink tights, ballet skirts optional.  Participants will need pink leather ballet slippers and black Mary Jane style tap shoes.  Hair should be secured and neatly pulled away from the face.  We recommend dancers bring a small dance bag into class as they work to independently change their shoes with the guidance of our staff in between dance disciplines.

Mini Movement 2 (class specifically for our kindergartners, typically 5-6 year olds) 

This 45 minute class will begin to develop a more structured and disciplined environment while focusing on developing ballet technique, strength and flexibility.  The tap portion of this class will focus on further developing our students tap vocabulary, coordination, and musicality. 

Dancers will need to wear any solid colored leotards, pink tights, ballet skirts optional.  Participants will need pink   leather ballet slippers and black Mary Jane style tap shoes.  Hair should be secured and neatly pulled away from the face.  We recommend dancers bring a small dance bag into class as they work to independently change their shoes with the guidance of our staff in between dance disciplines.

Mini Movement Jazz Funk (4-6 years old)

This high energy 30 minute class works on developing basic jazz skills with a funky twist.  Dancers will work on strength, flexibility, style, and rhythm.  Dancers will also learn how to put basic moves together to learn short combinations and dances.

Dancers should wear tan jazz booties.  Any leotard, dance shorts are permitted.  Hair should be secured and neatly pulled away from the face.

Mini Movement Acro (4-6 years old)

This 30 minute class will work on strength, flexibility, and basic acro skills up to somersaults and starting to work on cartwheels.

Dancers should wear leotards, dance style shorts acceptable, no tights (footless/convertible tights are acceptable) bare feet and hair should be secured neatly away from the face.
